Miyazaki Internship 2007

Here are just a few pictures that I have after being in Miyazaki for about 10 days. I’m really enjoying myself, and learning a lot. It’s been a great experience so far...

First, a few pictures from Great Autumn Festival in Miyazaki. This is a Shinto festival, and they believe that the box they are carrying in the lower picture is home to the god that protects Miyazaki. The monster is thought to bring good health to all every child whose head is bitten… There was a lot of crying at this festival!

Next are a few pictures from up in the mountains on October 29. We went up there to see the leaves during this beautiful season… The lower left picture is a lake that has formed in the mouth of an old volcano. There were four or five of these up here.

Finally, on November 3, the church went out to a beautiful park to spend the day worshipping, playing, and of course eating :) It was a beautiful day, as you can see…
